I used this to make a meatloaf in the shape of a human hand. Without this mold, I'm sure my meatloaf would have looked equally scary, but this mold gave it some recognizable shape (I added onions for "fingers"). Cleaning it was not easy - there are small crevices where food gets stuck. I have used this as a jello mold as well - my kids love eating finger by finger. My husband cringes when he sees me take this out of the cupboard ("another night of freak food"), but having food in severed body part format does seem to provide entertainment for the kids, so I cannot resist. Perhaps I am scarring them for life. Oh well. Soaking it for a few minutes in warm water does make it easier to clean. I paid around $7 for this at a specialty store, so Amazon prices are considerably higher.

I made a bday cake with this (see uploaded photo on product page),but can't use in an oven, it's only a mold (cold only!)Incredibly realistic when you insert 2 slivered almonds on the end of the wrist and paint it with red food color.At some point, will post a youtube vid or food.com recipe on how to make it.
