Total, Utter JUNKZeroDon't buy this no matter the price. This is not suitable for little ones at all, because although it says the drying time is 1 minute, it's not even that long. You don't, as the instructions say, even have the TIME to get the lumps out, and it holds bubbles, leaving you with a really crappy, bubble-filled impression. I was trying to make a simple mold of a toy dog, and I'm a full grown adult, and I didn't feel I could work quickly enough to get the item into the gel. Much less if I had had to get a distractable child to put their hand on it! I used the coldest water available, to obtain the longest drying time as the container says... and since it's about 40 degrees outside right now, the tap was pretty darn cold.Seriously. Even $4 is too much for any quantity of this stuff. It is not worth paying for in any way, shape, or form. Find another product.
I've only used this product for this type of project...dlsdogmaso I have little to compare it to. We use it with plaster to make hand/foot or whole body molds of babies who came when it was not their time. Movement not an issue. The amount of water needed is much less than the instructions say-needs to be about pudding consistency, not like cake batter. Bubbles form in the plaster, also-don't get too wild with your stirring, and tap the plaster to get the bubbles to float up. The amount of detail is incredible. Tiny fingernails, hand creases, and skin are all amazingly preserved. It takes practice to get it right, like anything. Of course, with 3 dimensional molds, you have to peel off the gel globs from the plaster, being super careful not to break the object inside.
WORKSdyaboI used this in the precoius hands kit. The first time I did it I wished it had set faster. But the result was amazing. I cast my infants hand. The second time it was fine, good product. The second time I cast a 3 year olds hand. I would recommend it! I read the previous review and I didn't have any of those problems. I used room temp water. No bubbles or clumps. Just fine.
