The white plastic platter is about the size of a sheet of notebook paper and it does not really go that deep (depth for mixture pour in). I would advise it to be used as a hard candy mold but we are going to use it for chocolate pop molds for her school's 2nd grade science project on Vertebrates. She was assigned the Kangaroo. I thought it would be innovative and unique for instead of having a conventional model she used edible Kangaroo pops that the kids could identify the shape, locate the spinal cord, and eat it after they were done discussing about it (as a added bonus).
